Fan-following of Cruel Summer is too high!

Each episode of the series had almost 7 million views on average which is surely an achievement. That is the same reason why it became the most-watched series on Freeform. Tara Duncan, the president of the network, revealed that the response from the audience was unexpected. The same response made us think that there needs to be another season. She said,

Cruel Summer’s Renewal for the second season was quite an easy decision. It’s the biggest debut for any series in the network’s history. Tia, Jessica, and Michelle did an excellent job of writing an addictive story. Let’s see how it goes forward!

About Tara Duncan and Freeform

Duncan has worked as an executive on  Netflix as well in the past. It’s been a year since she became a part of Freeform. She intended to promote the shows like Good Trouble and The Bold Type. Also, Disney decided to change the network’s name in January 2016 and asked to create diverse shows for younger generations in particular. This diversity of its shows can be seen in Grown-ish and Good Trouble. Besides this, American Sign Language’s inclusion in Switched at Birth was also a groundbreaking idea.

What’s Next For the Series?

Cruel Summer is another addition to the shows that made the network successful. It will unfold mysteries like Kate’s kidnapping incident and Jeanette’s involvement. It will also reveal why Jeanette didn’t inform anyone about the incident even after witnessing it. There is a lot more to come for the fans. The first season’s finale aired on Freeform one month before, on June 15. The second season is on its way, and the audience seems to be anxious about it.
