Never Have I Ever Season 2 has just added Common, the rapper and actor, to its cast for the upcoming season. The show is co-created by Mindy Kaling, and the main character is Devi Vishwakumar (Maritreyi Jagannathan). Devi is a high school student who seems to navigate academic hardships along with friendship troubles. Her relationship with her mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), starts to fumble after her father’s death.
After one long year, they have updated a few things and announced the arrival of Common in the series. Common has to play the role of a dermatologist named Dr. Chris Jackson. He works in the same building in which Nalini works. He has several celebrity clients as well, but that isn’t enough to impress Devi’s mother. But he’s an impressive person, especially in terms of his fieldwork.

Netflix uploaded all these photos via Twitter. Moreover, Devi also seems to choose her partner, and the options are Ben, her nemesis, and Paxton, who’s her longtime crush. She has also mentioned the pros and cons on a list. She’s showing it to two of her best friends Eleanor (Ramona Young) and Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez). It looks like Never Have I Ever Season 2 will continue to focus on Devi’s life without focusing enough on the boys. Never Have I Ever Season 2 will release on Netflix in July.
What’s Next For Every Character from Never Have I Ever?
Season 1 has presented Devi Vishwakumar as a bright teen with the will to grow her social circle. Moreover, she also wants to enhance her love life. She has just gone through the pain of her father’s (Mohan, played by Sendhil Ramamurthy) death. Devi, her cousin Kamala (Richa Moorjani), and Nalini are staying together looking to live a normal life. Devi is also trying to remain intact with her cultural and religious beliefs. All in all, the series is a mixture of humor and emotions.
Devi’s Emotions after Mohan’s Death
It’s tough for Devi to lose her father in high school, which has temporarily paralyzed her. At the beginning of the series, Devi seems to regain her ability to walk. Moreover, she plans to make a hot boyfriend as well before her sophomore year. Basically, Devi wants all these things to happen to forget about her dad’s death which isn’t easy. At the end of season 1, she admits that she isn’t ready to accept that her father isn’t alive.
Nalini, Kamala and the New Challenges
Like Devi, her family members are also facing new challenges to bring their lives back to normal. Nalini tries to attach with her daughter emotionally, but Devi isn’t ready for it either. Devi’s cousin Kamala is also a student at Caltech. Her parents are looking for her to marry, but she refuses because she doesn’t want to marry an unknown guy. During all this, it’s Paxton, Fabiola, and Eleanor who are keeping Devi happy. Season 2 will show the future of Devi, and her family and fans will get to know what will happen in her love life.
