The High Republic is almost here. Star Wars has released a new trailer. This chapter is all set to take you to the expanding Star Wars universe.

To celebrate the new era of Star Wars storytelling, Lucasfilm opened the blast door on January 4, 2021, with a live stream event. The live stream event celebrates the trailer launch of The High Republic in the most epic way. The event featuring Star Wars’ Kristin Baver, publishing creative director Micheal Siglain and authors revealed that in this new era of the glorious HIGH Republic. The noble and wise Jedi Knights must face a frightening threat to themselves, the galaxy, and force itself. Moreover, in this special live stream event, Lucasfilm debuted the trailer for its publishing initiative and revealed an evil that threatens all the Jedi Knights hold dear. They also revealed that The High Republic would split into three phases;

The trailer released on January 5, 2021, just had glimpses of the first phase- the Light of the Jedi. So being a fan of Star Wars, it’s exciting that there are a lot more stories of ancient Jedi heroics ahead of us. 

Within the Star Wars saga, The High Republic is a new sub-franchise. The story of the series takes place hundreds of years before the events of the Phantom Menace. Likely to play out across an assortment of comic books, novels, and stories.

Star Wars: The Light, Quest, and Trails of Jedi

Described as an interconnected mega story, Star Wars; The High Republic is set at the height of Jedi’s power and is expected to cross comics, novels, and middle-grade books with its faraway galaxy theme.

Intended to be suitable for a younger audience, the new cast character and the theme of the High Republic will spread out across several mediums. It includes the novel Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule, the middle-grade novel A Test of Courage by Justina Ireland, the YA novel into the Dark by Claudia Gray. Two comic books Star Wars: The High Republic at Marvel and Star Wars: The High Republic Adventure by Cavan Cott and Daniel Jose Older respectively are also part of it.

The High Republic is likely to play inspiration for the Disney plus live-action series The Acolyte. The Acolyte developed by Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland. Nevertheless, coming back to Star Wars: The High Republic will give the audience a lot of thrill and excitement. As in the trailer, an unnamed Jedi narrated that:

“We are the guardians of peace and justice. Beyond the stars is a near-endless frontier. Our order was meant to shine its light in even the darkest corners of the galaxy. There, we found an evil that none of us had trained for, that threatens all we know. For the survival of the Republic, the fate of all Jedi, for control of the Force itself”.

Since Star Wars has started to expand beyond the movies, the fans are expecting a lot from this. There would definitely be a lot of content for the audience of all ages-young to old.
