Star Wars: The Bad Batch- “A sequel series to Clone War”

Announced back in July 2019, The Bad Batch squad is all set to return your Disney Plus screens as the official trailer is finally released.

On December 10, 2020, Disney released the first trailer and has finally given the spectators a sneak peek for their upcoming CG-animated series called Star Wars: The Bad Batch. This new animated series is essentially a sequel series to “Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and it will hit the Disney Plus screens in 2021. 

Following a team of defective clones, the series is a spinoff of The Clone Wars. It will focus on elite experimental clones called Bad Batch. These clones were also there in the first few episodes of the final season of “The Clone Wars”.

The series moves around the members of Clone Force 99, called Bad Batch. A unique squad in which clones are different hereditarily from their brother in Clone Army. Everyone equips with extraordinary skills that make them formidable soldiers and exceptionally efficient crew. In the post-Clone era, the Bad Batch will explore and make their way through the galaxy. The Clone force will undertake multiple daring mercenary missions as hired-soldiers or soldiers of fortune and will find their own purposes. Whiles, the main focus of this series will be on the unit’s chance to mercenary work after the ascent of the Empire.

Additionally, The Bad Batch will have four genetically enhanced clones along with the leader Hunter. He talks with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about his unique sensory abilities. Whiles, the clone Echo excludes. 

Although Order 66 is nowhere in the trailer of the synopsis. The revealed footage does seem to have the Bad Batch interaction with imperial officers and facing off against stormtroopers. However, it would be hard to say what to expect or what Bad Batch will bring to the table. But there is one thing for sure, plenty of action, adventure, fantasy, and drama. As it has already created the hype and fans and critics are speculating and have started praising it widely.

Dave Filoni – The Eminent

Dave Filoni, the eminent creative producer will produce this new animated series. He is back with the bang and is all set to do what he does best. He has guided Lucasfilm’s animation efforts – including “Star Wars Rebels” and “Clone Wars”. Along with The live-action The Mandalorian, and Clone Wars, Rebels. As Dave Filoni has already done some incredible work, the Bad Batch will again be overseen by him. Moreover, he now considers an integral part of Disney’s upcoming Star Wars strategy. Particularly when it comes to Disney’s TV series, Dave Filoni is an instrumental piece.  

In an announcement of the series, the senior vice president of content at Disney Plus, Agnes Chu, praised his work. He commented, “While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.” Moreover, he stated, “Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ has been our honor at Disney+. We are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series.”
