The recently released trailer of Stargirl Season 2 has shown a few new faces from the show. This time, it’s Jade, the daughter of none other than Green Lantern. Geoff Johns has created the DC comic character Stargirl (Courtney Whitmore) and the series is based on it. Geoff has a special place for this character because he named it after the death of his sister Courtney. She fell prey to an air disaster back in 1996 and the character is a special tribute to her. Moreover, Johns himself is the writer and executive producer of the series which started in 2018.
Everything About Stargirl Season 1 and Characters
Stargirl series has followed the story of a teenage girl Courtney Whitmore who seems to uncover a Cosmic Staff. Starman once used the same Staff and this becomes the rise of Stargirl. After that, she tries to reform the Justice Society of America with the help of a bunch of young superheroes. Stargirl Season 1 has referred to some of the classic heroes including Alan Scott who is the original Green Lantern. The powers he had were surely magical not because he was an alien but because of his ring. He used to recharge it using a green lantern.

New Additions to the Series
In the comic book, Jade also known as Jennifer Lynn-Haden has a twin brother named Obsidian. He has already appeared in one of the series Legends of Tomorrow. However, Jade’s entrance seems to hint at the arrival of her twin brother as well in Blue Valley.
Jade’s appearance is surely a major move by DC in order to introduce different versions of Green Lantern. Green Lantern isn’t restricted to the Stargirl series only, one of these character’s versions is going to appear in the upcoming Green Lantern Series. This series is still in progress due to the delays caused by the pandemic. Apart from this, a Green Lantern Movie is also in progress since 2014. However, no such announcement has been made regarding its release date. No one knows if it’s still in the making or not.
What Are Fans Expecting From Stargirl Season 2?
The newest trailer of Stargirl Season 2 as well as the introduction of a new character seems to be an exciting move by DC. Fans can’t wait to see Jade in action and what her arrival means for Courtney. It has also hinted at the arrival of Jade’s twin brother. But it’ll be interesting to see the role of Jade for this newly reformed Justice Society of America. Stargirl Season 2 will arrive on The CW on August 10 to answer all the questions from the fans.
