CBS’s upcoming crime drama series The Equalizer is back with a bang. Following the film released in 2014 and its sequel in 2018, this television series is the second reboot in the franchise.

Originally airing on CBS from September 18, 1985, to August 24, 2019, The Equalizer is back, and she’s a queen. Written by Marlowe and Miller, who will serve as showrunners. Liz Friedlander is the director of The Equalizer, and CBS slotted the series at 8 PM on Sundays in the fall.

Reimagining the classic series, The Equalizer is starring Queen Latifah as a lead actress. She is playing Robyn McCall – an enigmatic figure who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. 

Robyn is also a single mother to teenage daughter Delilah. She’s a defender and guardian angel for those who are unable to defend themselves. Furthermore, she will be fighting the evil souls with a little help from a team that includes Adam Goldberg and Chris Noth while pursuing her redemption. 

Queen’s Past and Current Role

Queen Latifah is also known as Dana Ownes. She has been impressive throughout her acting career. Her career is full of success, and she is likely to celebrate her 30th year as an actress this year, which is exceptional. This super lady is quite Badass. From Chicago and Beauty Shop to Girl Trip and Set It Off, she has proven herself one of the best with so many memorable characters. However, this time around, she has big shoes to fill, and that took off her Co-star Denzel Washington, who played the lead role in The Equalizer for the big screen.

In this upcoming series, the Queen is playing the lead role. She is also the executive producer alongside Terri Miller, Andrew Marlowe, John Davis, and Debra Martin Chase, Richard Lindheim, and Shakim Compere. On January 9, 2021, CBS released the official trailer of The Equalizer. It reveals Queen’s secret life as Robyn McCall. 

The trailer showcases several compelling and engrossing clips about Robyn’s new job and her dangerous lifestyle.

She is very keen on helping helpless people and protecting herself and others from outdoor dangers. However, her daughter is curious about her abrupt departure from the usual work. When she inquires about that, she only gets to listen “it’s complicated.”

Nevertheless, Robyn is highly motivated. He is not pushing himself back even after several hurdles. As different people want to know about her new side gig. They are curious why she decides to be a new hero, she is hesitant to answer those. However, she knows exactly who she is and is crystal clear about her mission.

The highlight of the trailer was, when a curious girl asks Robyn who she is, she confidently says: “I’m the one you call when you can’t call 911”.

Following the Super Bowl, The Equalizer premiered on CBS on February 7.
