The first official teaser for the young DC heroes known as the Titans has finally dropped. And like all forms of comic book media, it is full of hidden secrets, Easter eggs, and much more!
Where It Left Off And What’s New In Titans Season 3 Trailer
In season 2, fans saw a build-up to the new superheroes and their arcs. Also, they explored the mythos of Dick Grayson’s original team as his character development ended up in the eventual transformation to Nightwing. This will streamline into season 3 as we see a return to Nightwing’s hometown, Gotham City.

Season 3 now promises much of its screen time taking place in DC’s darkest landmark, as revealed in the 2-minute trailer. In addition, Starfire’s relationship with her sister, Blackfire, is sure to be fleshed out as the latter takes a villainous role in the trailer. Lastly, much to our dismay, Jason Todd shall be leaving the role of Boy-Wonder behind and adapting the cold, ruthless character of Red-Hood.
The Reveal Of Joker And More DC Villains?
However, what’s most exciting for the fans is possibly getting to see Joker, and no, not as a cameo but as a substantial part of the story, even if the trailer only refers to him as part of the flashback, where he ruthlessly batters the young Boy-Wonder with the iconic crowbar, as it has been in the comics. That interaction itself is a necessity to Jason Todd’s new motives, although we’ve yet to see if he becomes Red-Hood in the same manner as he did in the comic arc ” A Death in The Family ” or if his trajectory will change for the show.
Speaking of villains, we can’t ignore the brief glimpse we caught of Scarecrow. We see him behind a cell at Arkham Asylum, and the trailer references him consulting along with the GCPD. Although we’re not sure if Dr. Crane will be an all-out villain here, the trailer does show us the fear of toxins being injected by someone how these factors into the narrative remain to be seen.
Titans Season 3 Trailer: Return of Bruce Wayne?
Of course, a story involving the Red-Hood and Gotham city is incomplete without featuring the Dark Knight himself. We see the return of Iain Glen’s Bruce Wayne. Although we haven’t seen him don the cowl except in the hallucination scene from season 1, it’ll be fair to expect a proper Batman appearance, however even if this is what the fans clearly want, the trailer shows us, Bruce, telling Dick to be a better Batman, possibly giving up his cowl.
Reference To The Killing Joke?
Notably, we are introduced to an all-new iteration of Barbara Gordon in her role as commissioner, taking after her father’s mantle in the Titans season 3 trailer. She and Dick Grayson are seen reminiscing about filling their father’s shoes. Another interesting detail is her being in the wheelchair, referencing that the events of ‘The Killing Joke’ may have already taken place. It will be interesting to see how her character navigates through this arc involving Jason Todd.
Does Wonder Girl Lives?
It is also nice to see that Connor Leslie shall return to play the much-loved character despite the shocking Wonder girl, although we don’t know the extent of her appearance. She did only appear for a mere second in the new Titan season 3 trailer.

Lastly, fans are looking forward to this show now that it’s been shifted to HBOMAX. The budget increase is very apparent from the season 3 trailer, giving us a better fleshed-out DC arc to experience. Fans will be able to watch the first three episodes from August 12, after that a new episode will be released every Thursday on HBOMAX.
