WandaVison: on Disnyplus, Episodes 5 and 6 Review.

In WandaVison Episode after episode, the value of the show conceived by Jac Schaeffer is increasingly clear. In a TV reality where the ordinary activity is binge-watching: where we often have a full-episode series available, “Wandavision” chooses to differ from the usual programming. It chooses a weekly episodic formula that, judging by the ratings, works in a formidable way.

The show is so animated because of the audience’s speculation, forced to wait to watch the following episode. During the waiting week, the interest increases with everything that concerns: theories, predictions, and a continuous search for the Easter egg.

WandaVision: A more and more fragile illusion

Another decade, from the 70s to the 80s. The creators have reproduced in a marvelous way those years. It had never been a TV series about past nostalgia; actually, it tells of a future that Wanda will never have. She can never have it. Vision is always closer to the truth and episode after episode Wanda is recognized as the goddess of a world.

Her will is indisputable and everyone is afraid of her. When Agnes seems to say something questionable inside Maximoff’s house walls, she looks at Wanda with eyes of terror. She knows very well that she could destroy her, she could make her live an even worse nightmare. The illusion, however, is increasingly fragile and the season-ending is approaching inexorably.

WandaVision: Personalities of power and their fears

If Wanda is the only figure of power in the illusory world, outside of it is the chief agent who manages all operations. Two exact human reactions are evident in them: fear and cowardice. Fear is seeing one’s convictions. To beat fears, both personalities will choose to make impulsive decisions. Wanda recreates a city due to the fear of facing her grief; the agent, instead, wants to destroy Wanda for fear of even more serious repercussions.

Wanda does not have the courage to face her traumas, while the agent does not have the courage to face the situation with greater risks. Better get rid of the root of the problem: better kill Wanda.

WandaVison: Unexpected twists

We were almost certain that every episode would have represented a sequential decade. But we were wrong. Episode 6 of “Wandavision” chooses to recreate the early 2000s, where sitcoms no longer needed laugh tracks.

In addition to this unexpected choice, the turning up of Pietro Maximoff is really a surprise for those who had not seen the casting previously. Pietro, however, is not played by the actor who interpreted him in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, but he is played by Evan Peters. The X-Men’s Quicksilver.

We believe, however, that the end of Wanda is ever closer. Her powers are unexpectedly more extraordinary than we imagined. Even the other characters say it several times. Yet Wanda once again shows how her powers are almost limitless. Where will the illusion end? Stay tuned to learn about the developments of “Wandavision.” If you are curious to see it, you can find it only on Disney+.
