Supergirl has just been renewed for another 6th season which may be its final one. The ongoing pandemic affected the fifth season as well, but they cut it short. However, before its end, Supergirl’s star character Melissa Benoist announced her first child’s arrival in this world. This made her take a maternity leave which ultimately delayed her return to Season 6. The filming of Season 6 started in fall 2020 without Melissa. However, the day’s news is that the premiere date for the final season has been announced.
Supergirl Season 5 had shown Kara Danvers and her team facing a lot of challenges. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, their Chief was among them. Lex Luthor became a hero instead of a criminal in the History of this new world. In fact, Luthor is the owner of DEO now and is the boss of Kara Danvers, Alex, and Brainy.

The CW announced the renewal of Supergirl for the final season in January last year. But the pandemic made them delay all of their shows till Spring 2021. However, Supergirl Season 6 will be back on March 30, 2021.

As of now, no one can predict anything regarding Supergirl Season 6, knowing that it’s the final one. According to Lex Luthor, some parts of the show have been filmed while some new scenes have also been written. This resulted in a whole new ending as compared to the expected one. This ultimately hints that the thorn in Supergirl Season 6 is Luthor. Besides this, John Diggle will also pop into the National City during Season 6. All in all, viewers may expect some character developments after Season 5 as well.
