Game of Thrones’ most satisfying moments

Most satisfying moments in Game of Thrones

Jon and Ygritte make love

Jon Snow had been through so much at this point. He never got the love of a mother, and his adoptive father couldn’t tell him the truth about his lineage. He was reviled and mocked rather wrongly for supposedly being a bastard, and there was no shortage of adversity. So when he finally broke his vow with Ygritte. It was one of the most satisfying moments that felt like a long time coming.

Death of Joffrey Baratheon

As the instigator of the first major villainous act in the show; His death came as little surprise that people wanted Joffrey to die in the worst manner possible. While the showrunners teased his demise a few times, it never came true up until he was poisoned. The sight of his face becoming disfigured as the poison took its effect; was a lot of relief for most people who watched the show.

Tyrion kills Tywin Lannister

Tyrion was one of the most mistreated characters in the show. Even though he showed his mettle more than once as a shrewd tactician and a knowledgeable man, his father never respected him. He avoided treating him like his son just because he was a dwarf. Tywin would go so far as to stage a mock trial leading to Tyrion being sentenced to death; while also taking Tyrion’s love Shae for himself. Tyrion would have his sweet vengeance by killing Tywin while taking a dump to drive home the humiliation he deserved.

Jon Snow is crowned King in the North

Jon Snow was another character of Game o Thrones who, despite his honorable nature, was mistreated all his life. First by his adoptive mother and then by many of his compatriots at the wall. Just as things started to line-up for him when he became the lord commander of the Night’s Watch, he was stabbed by his own brethren. So, once he got resurrected, which in itself was wonderful for the fans, and he abandoned the black, he would be crowned the King in the North in what was one of the most satisfying moments of the penultimate season.

Arya kills the Night King

The Night King was the driving force behind a lot of the drama on the show, and while he wasn’t as cruel as some of the other villains, he led to the death of many fan-favorite characters. He was also indirectly responsible for Dany’s evil turn. For a large part of the great war, the Night King even seemed invincible, and just as he was about to turn the entire North into Whites, Arya did the impossible by ending the Night King’s war effort in one stealthy swoop.

Humiliation of Cersei

Cersei was one of the primary antagonists of the show from the very first episode to the very lost, which took a lot of cruelty and heartlessness on Cersei. She even became one of the most powerful people in the Seven Kingdoms and seemed nigh untouchable from quite early on. As such, her humiliation at the hands of the High Sparrow and his followers felt so good. Even though it would only be a minor blip in Cersei’s path, it was very satisfying when it happened.

Trial of Littlefinger

The game for the iron throne on which the entire series was based; wasn’t caused by any of the reasons actually put forth at first. Littlefinger actually instigated many of the factors that created all the strife and the ensuing death and destruction. This included everything from the murder of Lord Jon Arryn to the attempt on Bran’s life. He would keep up treachery throughout the show and never faced any repercussions until he ran into the Stark sisters in the final season. The showrunners beautifully subverted expectations by almost making it appear as if Sansa and Arya had turned on each other only for everything to be turned on its head. Littlefinger would meet his just end at the hands of Arya following a heart-warming one-sided trial with a little help from the Three-eyed Raven.
