In a profile with Bustle, Swift has revealed the central point for casting O’Brien in the short film. Before this project, Swift and O’Brien had never met beforehand. But it was the talent of a young boy that caught her eye. Swift told this young boy was her first preference. She strongly believed in his talent as he could bring nuance to the character that she wanted to portray. There were great things that were said about those who worked with O’Brien. But Swift did not agree more till the production ended.

Swift said Dylan was his first choice for All Too Well, a short film. She said he has a versatile personality which I was searching for. She had seen his work and heard nothing. But the wonderful thing about him is his personality. She added I like to work with people who love their work and show enthusiasm for it. She felt he would prove significant at ad-libbing. He had added nuance to the character and enriched the story tenfold. He is mind-blowing. I am also lucky to have such a great friend from experience.

The short film took two days to shoot in New York. It was on YouTube on November 21 and has now received over 62 million views. It has limited theatrical released. It got praised by critics and audiences for the direction, cinematography, and role of Sink and O’Brien.
