Prison Break Season 6: Domonic Purcell Had His Say on the Making

What did the Cast Members say about the Making of Season 6?

Despite knowing that there are no chances for Prison Break Season 6 to happen, fans are curious about the making. Dominic Purcell, one of the essential characters from Prison Break, hinted at the making of season 6 in 2018. However, things didn’t go much well for the team, for which the scenario became different. Let’s take a look at whether Prison Break Season 6 has been canceled or not. If they’ve canceled it, what are the reasons for it?

After the completion of season 5 in 2017, the CEO of FOX TV Group ensured that they’d consider more episodes. In December 2017, Dominic Purcell announced the making of season 6 through his Instagram. In January 2018, one of the FOX TV members said that the cast for season 6 would not change entirely. They will keep on playing their respective roles as Lincoln Burrows and Michael Schofield. FOX TV even revealed the script’s completion for the first episode of season 6 two months later.

In February 2019, Dominic Purcell confirmed the filming of Prison Break Season 6. In the meantime, viewers got excited after coming to know about the return of their most favorite season. In August 2019, the CEO of FOX Entertainment said they’re no more interested in making the sixth season.

Why did Wentworth Miller dennied to play Michael Schofield in Season 6?

Things got worse for them after Wentworth Miller showed no more interest in his role as Michael Schofield. Since he belongs to the LGBTQ community and is gay himself, he wanted to play the role of a gay person. After that, viewers got so disappointed that they even unfollowed him on Instagram. Wentworth Miller’s exact words were:

I’m out of Prison Break officially. Not really because of the static on social media. I don’t want to play these straight characters anymore. Their stories are clear, and anyone can understand them. So, no more Michael. I hope you’re disappointed because you’re a fan and hoping for more seasons. If you’re not feeling good because you fell in love with a fictional character played by a gay person, that’s your matter. I’m sorry.

Dominic Purcell didn’t take much time and came in support of Wentworth immediately. So, his chances of a return to Prison Break Season 6 also vanished. So, there is no way season 6 is going to happen without these two big guns.

Domonic Purcell’s advice for the fans asking for Prison Break Season 6

In recent days, fans started to comment “ Bring back Season 6” on each of Purcell’s Instagram posts. So, he had to upload a story to advise the fans to stop doing this. He said, “I understand all the concerns but stop asking the same thing again and again. We’ll let you know if it happens, but there are no chances of it as of now.”

So, it seems like season 5 was the end of an era of Prison Break, which started some 12 years back. The way the show ruled over the hearts of people is beyond comparison. However, fans are still hoping for the making of season 6.
