The Matrix Resurrections (2021) is a science fiction action movie. Lana Wachowski produced, directed, and co-written this fourth installment to The Matrix franchise. Some previous characters reprised their roles while some new added. This sequel of The Matrix Revolution (2003) premiered on December 16, 2021. But it has released in theaters and HBO Max on December 22, 2021.
What is the story The Matrix Resurrections has?
The plot of the series showed that the film had happened sixty years after the events of the Revolution. The Matrix Resurrections opening was the same as The Matrix (1999). This new installment of The Matrix featured Thomas Anderson. He was a world-famous video game designer in the modern day. His famous game was “The Matrix.” He played the leading role while the game plot revolved around the storyline of the first three Matrix films. Thomas Anderson encountered difficulty in distinguishing his game from reality. He started consulting an analyst when he attempted to jump from the building roof. When things got worse, his boss, Smith, told him that there was a need to make a fourth The Matrix.
Bug (A hacker) and an agent (a computer-program version of Morpheus) fruitfully woke up Neo (the fictional character portrayed by Keanu Reeves). He woke up in the only one provided pod in the area. Neo knew that it would be Trinity (the fictional character portrayed by Carrie-Anne Moss) as she was trapped in the new Matrix. Before he could save her, a machine attacked him.
How were Neo and Trinity freed from The Matrix?
Moving towards the end of the movie, Neo goes to Trinity and tries to convince her to leave. It would be her choice if she wanted to leave. Otherwise, she would die. But if she chooses to stay here, Neo will be with her. But in the end, Trinity decided to leave. Now the Analyst who was the therapist of Thomas Anderson tried to kill Trinity, so he froze the time. But before he could do anything, Smith (the fictional character portrayed by Hugo Weaving) attacked him. Neo freed Smith and left the Matrix.
The Analyst tried to approach his cat Deja Vu. But before it happened, Neo and Trinity touched their hands to stop Analyst. But Neo and Trinity still faced hundreds of programs’ attacks that were “swarming” in the Matrix.
Soon Neo and Trinity held their hands and jumped down the roof together. They were falling then Trinity started to fly while holding Neo up. Trinity said, ” Bye, flew up, and both were out of the Matrix. They woke up and kissed each other in the real world.
What plan did Neo and Trinity make for the new Matrix?
In the final scene of The Matrix Resurrections, both went to the Matrix again and visited Analyst. Trinity flourished with a remarkable amount of power. Now she not only could fly, but she was able to split the Analyst’s throat. She was master to resurrect him, too, with a snap of her fingers. Analyst informed both that the suits tried to activate the fail-safe. But he was aware that it could not happen without Neo and Trinity permission, i.e., “source code,” as they were not in the pods. The Analyst suggested that they can make the Matrix again if they want. But the trapped humans would never want to leave as they feel comfortable in control.
They told Analysts that they were hoping to remake the Matrix. They also would help the trapped human that what a free mind can do. Trinity thanked the Analyst. Neo and Trinity put on their sunglasses, fly together and the movie ends.
