Why did the Title change from La Casa De Papel to Money Heist
Money Heist name changed poster

The original title of the famous crime series La Casa De Papel translates to “The House of Paper.” But the name changed to Money Heist. The reason was that a lot of fans criticized the former title for being too candid and weird. However, Netflix didn’t explain anything regarding this change officially. However, it seems like the change in the title was to avoid any confusion with House of Cards, one of the famous shows in US history.

In its original title, The House of Paper refers to the heist target in Season 1 and 2, Royal Mint. Professor’s plan was to print the money from the machinery there without looking at that present in the vaults. This plan requires the team to work for almost 11 days in order to dig a long hole. This was surely an excellent idea that clearly indicated the Professor’s efforts.

Comparison of Money Heist’s Title with Other Shows

Money Heist was no less than a surprise hit while House of Cards was already a famous TV show. Other TV shows with such titles include Orange Is the New Black and Hemlock Grove. The release of La Casa De Papel as The House of Paper could surely cause confusion for the fans.

Marketing may be another reason for the change in title for the audience in the US. The audience doesn’t like to take a look at the shows for which they need subtitles. This may be the reason why its Season 4 was in the top-10 most-watched shows in the US. This is no less than an achievement. The fourth season ended with the team still looking for a way to leave The Bank of Spain safe and sound. Their plan was to melt more or less than 90 tons of gold there. Whatever we call it, either La Casa De Papel or Money Heist, fans are looking for its final season to see how this heist ends.
