‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’- it’s all about Angelina.

Those Who Wish Me Dead'Trailer and Release Date

The trailer of ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ seems gripping and promising. We all know Angelina Jolie is A-list Academy Award winner. However, in recent times, her acting career is more dominated by her excellent voice work (see “Kung fu Panda,” “Shark Tale,” “The one and Only Ivan”), which makes the trailer of ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ a pleasant refreshment for Jolie’s fans.

‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ is based on 2014 novel with the same name written by Michael Koryta.

Plot and synopsis

In the film, Angelina Jolie plays a role of a smokejumper (a firefighter who works to stop wildfires) named Hannah Faber. In the trailer, Jolie helps a 14-year-old boy named Connor (Finn Little) outrun assassins (Nicholas Hoult and Aidan Gillen) with machine guns to kill him for witnessing a murder.

When assassins can’t get Hanna and Connor, they set Montana wilderness on fire to smoke them out.

Cast and Crew

Besides Jolie, ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ has a star cast of Tyler Perry, Nicholas Hoult, Aidan Gillen, Madina Senghore, Tory Kittles, Finn Little, Jon Bernthal, and James Jordan.

Two Emmy Nominee, Brian Tyler, composed the film’s score. Taylor Sheridan directs the film; his last film was 2017’s ‘Wind River. Sheridan is best known for his television drama ‘Yellowstone.’

Along with the Warner Bros., New Line Cinema and Creative Wealth Media are co-financing the film.

Angelina as a firefighter

Watching the trailer, it appears that Angelina Jolie subsumed herself into the role of a firefighter. She did consult with a real firefighter before the shoot.

In her words: “The first day we were in the fire [ I noticed] the heat and how quickly the winds would change and how quickly the fire would suddenly take to a tree that you weren’t expecting. Our respect just grew day after day for these people on the front lines and how difficult this work is.”

Release Date

Overall, those who love quality cinema should not miss this fiery extravaganza. Warner Bros. set to release ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ in cinemas and HBO Max from May 14. Watch the official trailer below:
