Vikings Valhalla; Netflix Spin-off New Series for Vikings’ Fans

Vikings Valhalla is a spin-off series going to follow new characters. It has set a century after the events of the Vikings. Rollo’s story was not wrapped in the primary series ending.

Vikings Valhalla

It is among those historical dramas that are getting power in this recent year. The main series had broadcasted on the History Channel in 2013. It had a plan to be a miniseries, but it lived on for a total of six seasons and ended in December 2020. Yet, the universe of Vikings has not finished, and it is going to resume with a spin-off sequel series.

Fans watched the early years of the Vikings Age that began with the Lindisfarne raid in season 1. The series’ main focus was legendary Norse figure Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel). As Ragnar’s sons gained ground, their journeys and battles became the focal point as the series gained ground. Ragnar’s sons were including Björn, Ubbe, Hvitserk, Sigurd, and Ivar. This series presented some remarkable figures from the Viking Age and its legends. Still, some left to introduce and many other untold stories. Though, it is the point from where the new series kicks in.

An Action-Packed Series

Jeb Stuart is a renowned writer of films who has written The Fugitive and Die Hard. He wrote this pulse-pounding action series that fans expected. There is also a chance that some characters will appear from Vikings. They include John Kavanagh, Karen Connell, Bosco Hogan, and Gavan O’Connor Duffy.

Series Battles and Characters

Vikings Valhalla shows a time gap of a century and takes a start after the death of King Edward the Confessor. Soon after King’s death, three lords start to claim the English Throne. Another figure, Leif Erikson, leads Greenlanders across the North Atlantic. His fierce and bullheaded half-sister Freydís Eiríksdóttir is a leader of the Old Norse religion. She has become anti-Christian due to a traumatic event that involves Christian Vikings. She was against the number of Christians in Scandinavia and searched for a new place for her people.

She is in a relationship with a Christian Viking from a royal family named Torsen. He participates in the battalion arranged by King Harald Hardrada to avenge the massacre. The series is coming with new characters and bringing Rollo’s (Clive Standen) arc. There is a need to thank two characters, William and Emma of Normandy, for this closure. Here is the Trailer.

Other cast members include Leif Erikson (Sam Corlett), Freydís Eiríksdóttir (Frida Gustavsson), King Harald Hardrada (Leo Suter), Emma of Normandy (Laura Berlin), Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), King Canute “the Great” (Bradley Freegard), Jarl Haakon (Caroline Henderson), Olaf “the Holy” Haraldsson (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson), Jarl Kåre (Asbjørn Krogh), Earl Godwin (David Oakes), Jarl Gorm (Julian Seager), Queen Ælfgifu of Denmark (Pollyanna McIntosh), The Seer (John Kavanagh), Arne Gormsson (Pääru Oja ), Prince Edmund (Louis Davison), Æthelred the Unready (Bosco Hogan), Eadric Streona (Gavin Drea), Merin (Yvonne Mai ) and Birkir (Joakim Nätterqvist).

When and Where to Release the Series?

Fans can expect this series to blend historical authenticity and dramatic story-telling. It will show violent and gritty actions as before. Those newcomers who are unfamiliar with the primary series don’t need to worry. They can see this new series without knowing the tales of Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons. However, fans who have seen the original series can understand some specific references. The settlement of Kattegat will feature in this series as before. That is the heart and spiritual home of the Vikings. Vikings will take control of most of England and all Normandy.

The forthcoming series is set to premiere on 25th February 2022. Netflix is coming with eight episodes of the first season. MGM productions have produced it as Vikings.

How many episodes of Vikings Valhalla are there?

Vikings Valhalla has a large number of episodes ahead to release. It has three expected seasons having 24 episodes with 8 per season. There is a doubt about the fame of this new series if compared with the predecessor.
